ABOUT US Sierra School of Wilderness Medicine & Survival is located at the base of the rugged Sierra Nevada Mountains. We are a team of highly trained and experienced professionals with a common belief that being prepared for the unexpected will ensure a more positive experience and outcome in every endeavor. Continuous learning is an important value to us and it should always be interesting, challenging and fun! Course offerings range from introductory topics with no prerequisites other than an interest to learn to more advanced topics for the outdoor enthusiast, first responder, rescuer or medical professional. We strive to We offer industry standard certifications and re-certifications for individuals, groups and teams. California EMS approved continuing education credits are also available for many courses. Customizing material to meet your specific needs is not a problem so let us know and we can work together.

Our courses are tailored to meet your needs in family, urban, corporate or wilderness settings and combine a balance of classroom learning and practical, hands-on experience. All of our instructors are highly qualified and have years of practical experience that add a practical, no-nonsense perspective to every course. The outdoors is our passion, so most courses will take you out into an appropriate setting to practice and refine your skills in the environment where you will be using them. You will notice in our courses the higher levels are more challenging and we believe, more personally rewarding and valuable as you build experience with higher skill levels.
